Back to Basics: M2Q Team Building in the Ardennes Forests

M2Q Team Building 2026

At M2Q, team spirit, camaraderie, and teamwork always come first! To strengthen our bond even further, we left our laptops and office walls behind for a while and headed out into the Ardennes forests with the whole team. It turned out to be a weekend full of relaxation, fun, and a solid dose of new knowledge.

Back to Basics: Learning and Connecting in Nature

Discover, connect, and collaborate. Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Ardennes, we stepped away from the daily hustle and bustle and reflected on what truly drives us as a team. Out in nature, we strengthened our team bond and learned practical survival skills.

Throughout the day, we took part in various outdoor activities that required focus, patience, and good teamwork:

Roll up your sleeves and get cooking!

Our adventure began on Saturday morning, June 27, at 10:00 a.m. with a group breakfast to get things off to a flying start. Afterward, a couple from Gullegem took us on a hike for a hands-on workshop on “surviving in the wild with a knife and flint.”

  • Wood Carving & Fire-Making: Using a very sharp knife, we learned how to make wood shavings and split wood. Without a lighter or matches, we built a fire all by ourselves. Throughout the day, we immersed ourselves in these activities, which required focus, patience, and teamwork.

  • Cooking over a campfire: Working together really comes into its own when it’s time to eat! Once the fire was burning well, we prepared our own three-course meal over the open flames. For the appetizer, we made tortilla chips with guacamole, followed by a main course of côte à l’os with vegetables, and we finished with chocolate and strawberries for dessert. The fresh air works up an appetite, and food you’ve cooked over a fire you built yourself tastes twice as good.

In the afternoon, we split into two teams to take on new challenges:

  1. Team Katapult: This team went looking for V-shaped branches to build a large catapult.

  2. Wood Carving Team: The other team stayed behind to carve wood, and we made beautiful spoons and even a little bear. This gave us a sense of calm and space for nice conversations in between.

After all that hard work, we had a little time to rest, and then, around 7:00 p.m., we put our brains to the test during a fun ’90s quiz. We wrapped up the day with a delicious meal and a very cozy get-together around the fire.

Swamps and Adrenaline

After breakfast on Sunday, June 28, we set off on foot toward a marsh near Les Ondes. There, we were faced with the ultimate team challenge: work together as a team to reach the other side of the marsh without anyone getting their feet wet!

To wrap up the team-building event with a real thrill, we sought out some excitement on the zipline. Plenty of adrenaline was guaranteed, after which we returned to our base. There, we enjoyed a nice little buffet before it was time to head home again.

Teamwork Both in and Outside the Workplace

At M2Q, we do it together. It was great to see everyone’s talents shine.

We look back on a fantastic team-building event full of energy, new stories, and a stronger sense of team spirit. On to the next challenge—we’re more than ready for it as a team!
